Barney Frank now thinks Craig might be 'gay'; We still think he's 'goppy'

See, this is why we need a word like 'goppy' for folks like Larry Craig and Washington's own Dick Curtis. From The Politico's Crypt blog:

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said last week that Sen. Larry Craig is likely gay. The Idaho Republican, who has emphatically denied he is gay or bisexual, has fended off rumors of his homosexuality repeatedly during his three decades in politics, most recently denying allegations he solicited gay sex in a Minnesota airport restroom this summer.

Frank, one of only two openly gay members of Congress, said he had reached his conclusion about Craig from news reports. In particular, he cited a report in the Idaho Statesman that Craig had engaged in oral sex with another man in a Union Station bathroom, probably in 2004.

Frank, who served with Craig in the House from 1981 to 1991 before Craig was elected to the Senate, said he believed Craig’s arrest was unfair.

“I don’t think he should have been arrested, but it’s more likely than not that he was interested in sex,” Frank said.

Asked if he believed Craig was gay, Frank replied: “More likely than not.”

A word like 'goppy', used in this situation instead of 'gay', wouldn't carry the baggage that Craig and Curtis seem to dislike -- all that stuff about 'pride' and 'tolerance' and 'rights' that seem to offend them.

'Goppy' is just an adjective that says nothing about identity or orientation or preference. It would be only about occasional behavior or mood or urges. It is, as I said, like the health-care providers' "MSM" -- but appropriately less clinical. It would work well in headlines that include the phrase "goppy sex scandal".
