Just two more weeks to get those advance Whistler tickets
Even though it isn't one of the many media sponsors for the event, Fab magazine -- a Toronto gay entertainment publication (the one that will next month feature newly out and very photogenic actor Adamo Ruggiero) -- provides this excuse to visually remind you that Whistler's WinterPride starts in just three weeks on February 3.
Beyond the many ways to play in the ample snow on the twin peaks, the entertainment features CURVE Magazine columnists Gina Daggett and Kathy Belge offer a reading from their new book during Lipstick & Dipstick at Solerice Spa (Tuesday, Feb. 5 8pm - 11pm); Last Comic Standing's Debra DiGiovanni at Comedy Night (Wednesday, Feb. 6 8 pm); Cirque Du Soleil at WinterPRIDE Banquet (Thursday, Feb. 7 7pm - 12am); DJ John Millier at the 7000-foot MountainTOP Dance (Friday, Feb. 8 7pm - 12am); Melissa Ferrick at the first Women's Night of Music (Friday, Feb. 8 8pm - 12am); DJ David Knapp at Snowball (Saturday, Feb. 9 10pm - 6am).
Tickets at the door (if they're still available by then) will be far more expensive for any of those events, so advance tickets are highly recommended. Tickets are available online singly or in a number of different packages.
Advance registration is also recommended for a number of the non-ski events on the mountains, like snowmobiling and snow shoeing.
