Link bites: Right wing loon says he's responsible for Starbuck's training sessions
Wonder what the inside story is about the nation-wide three-hour shutdown of all Starbucks stores? Well there's one right-wing loon out there who thinks he has the answer: A "James Hartline" of San Diego says he started a boycott of the Seattle-based coffee company three years ago because it is a sponsor of San Diego's gay pride events.
It is clear that Starbucks is feeling the effect of our boycott. Over the last three years, thousands of Christians and their churches have joined the James Hartline Report Action Center in boycotting Starbucks.
Do boycotts work? Absolutely, they work. Just read the following article from today's MSNBC report:
Starbucks to close all U.S. stores for training
Three-hour shutdown designed to educate, energize 135,000 workers
He doesn't really explain why the company would respond to his "slow-growth boycott" with a mandatory espresso-pulling training session for its employees, but he's clearly feeling good about it all.
And why the boycott? Well, of course, it's because he is offended that the company doesn't precisely follow the dictates he subscribes to: "As Christians we cannot continue to support companies like Starbucks who are violating our Christian faith and desires for our youth."

A "James Hartline" ought to read the newspapers. Starbuck's restructuring has to do with financial loses NOT due to offended . . . christians. But, then, he isn't reading this comment, so I'm preaching to the (progressive) choir. However, I am ever so happy Mr. Hartline has found some contentment.
