In a column called "Alaska Ear" in Anchorage Daily News , there's this item about the complaints lodged in some right-wing media about a special Alaska Airlines discount offered on a web page targeted to LGBT travelers: Did you get one of those e-mail screeches from some anti-gay group about a 10 percent discount on Alaska Airlines fares to NYC during the holiday season? It's available to everyone, but the airline did some target marketing to gays that set talk radio on fire Outside. A special promotion by Seattle-based Alaska Air has at least one guy up in arms. The promotion currently offers a 10% discount for Holiday travel on the airline's relatively new route (since 2002) to New York from its traditional West Coast base.
