Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer Big Blog Claiming that the goal of the team that runs the publicly-financed ballpark "is to foster an atmosphere at Safeco Field that is welcoming to all fans," Seattle Mariners officials have decided that their staff "acted appropriately" when ushers asked a lesbian couple to "tone it down" when they were seen kissing . The Mariners again insisted that the interaction between the couple was more than the "peck" that the couple and their friends described in initial reports. "[T]wo experienced staff members observed...

Whether it was a "peck" as the woman who shared it with her girlfriend claimed, or a full-on kiss, or what Mariners spokesperson later claims was a case of "groping," an incident at Safeco Field last week just got a lot more attention. Summary: An usher at Safeco Field last week told Sirbrina Guerrero and her date that someone had complained that the two women were kissing. The usher told them to stop. Guerrero complained to Safeco's guest services and later told her story to KOMO4. "I was really just shocked," Guerrero told Associated Press. "Seattle is so...

When compared to most of the small group of 50,000-watt LGBT bloggers out there, Chris Crain can be counted on for contrary takes on LGBT issues of the day. Crain blogs at Citizen Crain and manages a very good gay news digest at GayNewsWatch.com . He is also a columnist and former editor of the Washington Blade. His contrarian streak shows through in a column in this week's Blade as he takes on the brief flurry of blog coverage of the Richard Curtis affair in Spokane last week. (Revel in a sample that coverage in our special-edition Dick and Cody ticker .) For different reasons, but like Matt...

Matt Sanchez (center) as Rod Majors. Tom Bacchus has the unedited versions . Remember Matt Sanchez? We didn't bring the posts over here from the old version of this blog, but you can review the story here and here and here . Summary: He appeared as a student/veteran expert/commentator on Fox News and other News Corp. outlets until bloggers noted that he'd once been a gay-porn actor. He's taken a couple of other jobs in the conservative news biz since then. This week, he appears as an anti-gay expert and columnist on a site called "Right Wing News" with a piece called "...

Cody Castagna photo: Fleshbot (which has many more -- and much more flesh -- for a fee after a preview) Well, that was quite a week for a site that was just barely ready for it. But hey, it provided us with an unexpected way to introduce seaQwa [ pronounce ] to those who managed to find us. Let's review, shall we? We'll introduce you to some of seaQwa 's features along the way. The Curtis Affair was introduced to me when I scanned a news search last Monday and saw this headline from The Columbian, Vancouver, WA's daily: " Curtis denies wrongdoing, says he is not gay "...

Sen. Larry Craig (R) ID Idaho Stateman photo by Kerry Maloney See, this is why we need a word like 'goppy' for folks like Larry Craig and Washington's own Dick Curtis . From The Politico's Crypt blog: Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said last week that Sen. Larry Craig is likely gay. The Idaho Republican, who has emphatically denied he is gay or bisexual, has fended off rumors of his homosexuality repeatedly during his three decades in politics, most recently denying allegations he solicited gay sex in a Minnesota airport restroom this summer. Frank, one of only two openly gay members...

Now that he's resigned , Richard Curtis -- the La Center GOP ex-legislator described in Spokane police reports as wearing women's lingerie while he sucked cock in a porn shop -- will probably drift off the news pages and blog posts after a few days. But, until that happens, we've added a special-edition Qticker to the home page here that tracks pretty quickly the posts and stories that have been popping up furiously for the past few days. You can see the items in a slightly easier to read format here . (Click on the "Posted by" link below the snippet to read the full post...

According to KXLY TV , the man that State Rep. Richard Curtis (R – La Center) had sex with in Spokane last week is named Cody Castigna. Now, please keep in mind that we're not certain that the collection of deliciously explicit photos of a "Cody Castigna" available at gaypicsportal.com [not safe for work] shows the same guy. But, if they do, it shows that Curtis (allegedly, of course) has good taste -- as you can see from these thumbnails. Good taste, at least, for the visuals, if not for the character of his (alleged) MSM contact. Sorry. We didn't go for the subscription for...

Glance at our homepage headlines because the rumors swirling around yet another GOP politician caught up (for the moment, at least) in a gay-sex scandal , are, well... kind of fascinating. Quick summary: Spokane police got a weekend report that Curtis who had been in town for a GOP "strategy session" had sex Saturday night with a man who later tried to extort money from him in exchange for keeping the encounter secret. But keep in mind, whatever you hear, that the Vancouver-area state representative, Richard Curtis, R-La Center, is not gay . Nope. He did not have sex with that man . Curtis...

Just as the stories about 'not-gay' Idaho Senator Larry Craig (R-ID) had begun to fade, the DC gossipist Wonkette comes up with an amazingly juicy story from a man who claims to have had sex with Craig back in 1987. Well, in fact, the word "juicy" doesn't quite capture it. Far better to use -- as Wonkette does -- the Dan Savage neologism 'santorum' to describe the detail of the report of the claim of David Phillips. Wonkette describes Phillips as "a local IT geek and bear-about-town." Wonkette begins the tale: It was late in the Spring of 1987, and Phillips...
