Source: Birmingham News , WBRC TV , Alabama Weekly A gay advocacy group filed a federal discrimination lawsuit Wednesday against Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford for his refusal to let city workers hang banners supporting Gay Pride Week. Central Alabama Pride Inc. filed the suit in Birmingham, claiming Langford's actions violated the 1st Amendment. The suit claimed there was no rational basis for Langford to restrict the group from having banners on city property.
