Leader of worldwide gay rights groups visits Seattle in May
Pride Foundation announces Inaugural Ric Weiland Legacy Series
In honor of Ric Weiland (see more about his historic bequest at PrideFoundation.org) Pride Foundation is beginning the Ric Weiland Legacy Series. This will be a unique chance for Pride Foundation supporters to hear directly from our country's leaders in LGBT and other movements.
We kick off this inspiring series with a visit from Paula Ettelbrick, the Executive Director of the International Gay and Lesbian Human (IGLHRC), one of the recipients of the Weiland Designated Fund. Paula is one of our movements most experienced activists and she will share with us what life is like for LGBT people around the globe.
Please save Wednesday May 14th for an evening event in Seattle with Paula
Spring grants- $98,000 to help the community
Pride Foundation kicked off the year with $98,000 in grants to 34 organizations. The organizations selected show a diversity of our community's needs and creative solutions. They include a South Asian film festival, outdoor leadership for teenage girls, the expansion of a youth center and resources for lesbian and bisexual women who have been incarcerated. Read all about these strong organizations -- you might even find some that you want to participate with -- at Pride Foundation's website.
